~Codes of Ethics that are meaningful to me~

~We shall continually be aware of issues challenging the field of early childhood special education
and advocate for changes in laws, regulations, and policies leading to improved outcomes and
services for young children with disabilities and their families.
So many times we hear of families of children with disabilities no having the resources they need or deserve in order to properly educate their child.  As educators we have to remain knowledgeable on policy, laws and regulation to ensure our special education curriculum promotes success for our special education students.

~We shall build relationships with individual children and families while individualizing the curricula
and learning environments to facilitate young children’s development and learning.
This code is really important to me.  I’m a strong believer of building a relationship with the children I encounter.  Its wonderful to educate a child, but when they feel that you care about them learning as well as their total well being that child feels safe to truly thrive and reach for goals they otherwise would be timid about obtaining.

~We shall demonstrate in our behavior and language respect and appreciation for the unique value
and human potential of each child.
Respect goes both ways in order to receive it we also must give it. All people deserve respect and children are little people whom if we treat them with respect they will in turn show us respect also.
